The Garden Guru

…HELLO fellow gardening enthusiasts--and thank you for visiting my website! My name is Diane, and I am a long-time resident of Tempe, AZ. I’m also an avid gardener with a passion for creating thriving landscapes, succulent collections, and vegetable gardens, as well as bee and butterfly gardens.

With a bachelor’s degree in Applied Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Urban Horticulture from Arizona State University, my desert gardening expertise has ben cultivated through years of experimentation in my own gardens.

Living in the Valley means gardening is a year-round endeavor. I would be delighted to share with you some of the joys I’ve experienced in my own garden, such as indulging in garden-to-table delights, propagating succulents, and integrating native plants.

Harvesting vegetables throughout the year provides a bountiful yield that allows me to share with family, friends, and local food banks. In my yard, I’m also fortunate enough to have the iconic Saguaro cactus, a hallmark of the unique flora found in the Sonoran Desert. By incorporating native plants into your garden, you not only conserve water but also create havens for wildlife. I love watching birds and butterflies visiting my gardens, attracted by the natural shelter and sustenance provided by native plants.

I am a firm believer water is a precious resource and should be conserved, regardless of your location. Through sustainable landscaping practices, I create lush and beautiful landscapes that reduce water usage and mitigate the “heat island effect” common in desert cities. A well-planted yard provides a peaceful atmosphere, increases property value and reduces cooling costs.

Gardening in the Desert Southwest can be very challenging, but as your Garden Guru, I’m here to save you time and money by sharing my knowledge and experience. Garden Guru AZ specializes in crafting sustainable landscapes and gardens tailored to your needs.

My passion for helping others succeed in desert gardening led me to start this business. As a seasoned “garden coach”, I offer reasonably priced, customized coaching services to help you realize the desert oasis of your dreams.

I look forward to working with you!
