It’s that time of year!! Let’s Get Planting!
First, prepare your garden area by adding organic compost. Soil can become hydrophobic so water it in really well before you start planting.
What to plant to get a harvest before the cold weather arrives, tomatoes (short days to ripening), peppers, squash; put these plants in your sunniest location.
With the cooler night time temps plant kale, carrots, Brussels sprouts, radishes, broccoli, cauliflower & cabbage. When planting your carrots and radishes plant in consecutive weeks so your harvest isn’t ready all at once.
Once you have planted whether seed or transplants, mulch to keep moisture in the soil.
